MP Dismayed at Pontnewynydd Surgery Closure
Torfaen MP Paul Murphy has responded with surprise
and anger to the news that patients of Mill Road Surgery in Pontnewynydd
have been sent a letter informing them of the closure of their surgery.
He said: “I am very disappointed about this news and
totally support the efforts of AM Lynne Neagle and other representatives
of the local community. It was only a few days ago that I was given
the impression that the Local Health Board were delaying any plans until
Brian Gibbons had investigated the situation. I contacted the LHB last
week to urge them to do everything in their power to look into all possibilities
that would keep the surgery open. I will now write to them again to
make my disappointment at events clear.”
