Awards for All Wales Grant for Local Group

Torfaen MP Paul Murphy this week presented a cheque for £3,973 to Torfaen Camcorder Club, after the club won a grant from the Lottery Funded ‘Awards for All Wales’ scheme. The award will allow the club to project their films onto larger screens, enabling them to show to larger audiences.

Club Chairman Richard Jones was thrilled at the award. He said: “This money will make a real difference to our club. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast and easy the application process was. I would recommend the Awards for Wales programme to other local groups.”

After presenting the cheque, Paul Murphy said: “It is good to see this money going to a local group who do a good job in the community. The films I have seen today are great mementos of local events, put together by a team of people who are enthusiastic about what they do.”
