Former MP Leo Abse visits Torfaen

Leo Abse paid a visit to his old constituency this week, after being invited to attend Torfaen’s Mayor-making ceremony.

Leo, who earlier this year celebrated his 90th birthday, was the MP for Torfaen (or Pontypool, as it was formerly known) from 1958 to 1987. Leo was a famously outspoken Labour backbencher, who carried through a number of reforms in his time in Parliament.

While in Torfaen, Leo spoke to The Argus, who reported his visit on page 3 of their Saturday 19th May edition.
