Paul Murphy Opens new facilities at Abersychan School

Paul Murphy today officially opened the extensive new facilities at Abersychan School.

After speaking at the opening ceremony to pupils, staff, and governors and taking a tour of the new facilities, Paul Murphy said "This is an excellent development for the pupils of this school and for the local community."

"The facilities in the new classrooms are first class - great places for our young people to learn in. The sports and dining facilities are also impressive and give the school a really positive atmosphere. Credit goes to the Council and Assembly for investing in these facilities and to the staff who saw the project through."

The facilities include a new dining area, new sporting facilities including a gym, changing area, astroturf pitch and football/rugby pitch, a new ICT area and seven new classrooms.
