The Manufacturing Excellence Awards 2008

Paul Murphy MP is urging firms in Torfaen to enter the Institution of Mechanical Engineers' Manufacturing Excellence Awards 2008.

The Manufacturing Excellence Awards are highly prestigious, receiving the backing of some of the world's most famous companies. They aim to highlight and publicise the best of UK manufacturing. The awards are open to companies of all sizes. The deadline for entry is 28th February 2008.

Paul Murphy MP said; "I would love to see local companies enter these awards. I have visited companies in Torfaen who do a great job and deserve to be recognised. I know it's not always been easy for manufacturing in the UK, but there are good news stories out there that deserve to be rewarded. Manufacturing is still important to our local economy and I aim to do all I can to assist manufacturing companies in Torfaen."

Paul Murphy MP added: "I am keen to promote Torfaen as a great place to do business. Manufacturing is good for Torfaen as it brings quality jobs to our area, and Torfaen is good for manufacturing as we have a highly skilled, hard-working workforce."
