Torfaen MP Urges Local Veterans to Claim their Badges
Torfaen Veterans have been urged by their MP to collect their Veterans’ Badges as soon as they can.
Eastern valley MP Paul Murphy was speaking after a Veterans’ Reception in the House of Commons. He said that all men and women who served in HM Armed Forces up to and including 31st December 1994 are eligible, as are all who served in the Home Guard, Polish forces under UK command and the Cyprus Regiment.
Paul Murphy added: “Like many of my Parliamentary colleagues, I will be delighted to present the Veterans’ Badge to my constituents, in recognition of their service to our armed forces. We owe all those who have served our country a great deal. Anyone who is interested in claiming the Badge can contact my office to find out more, by phoning 01495 750078 or emailing paulmurphymp@parliament.uk”
The Veterans’ Badge can be issued posthumously to either war widows or widowers receiving a war widow’s pension, as long as the deceased served before 31st December 1994.
