MP talks to Minister on potential job losses

Paul Murphy has spoken to Welsh Assembly Economic Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones on the announced job losses in TRW.

The MP for Torfaen spoke following the statement by TRW Automotive in Pontypool that a potential 48 redundancies will be made.

Mr Murphy said: “I am deeply concerned by this announcement. These potential job losses will have a serious impact on workers and their families and our efforts must be concentrated on helping them through this difficult period.

“The company have started a consultation period over the job losses and I will be certain to make a strong case to retain the jobs. I have spoken with Assembly Economic Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones, urging him to try and find a way through this. Our priority remains to help the company and its workers.
