Murphy available to discuss expenses

I am willing to talk to local people to discuss what has happened and how we intend to change the expenses system.

Public confidence in Parliament has been shaken and considerable measures must now be implemented to restore trust in MPs and restore moral authority in our democratic system. Now is the time to make not only superficial changes, but to seize the initiative. I am in favour of implementing a new clearer, simpler and fairer system ensuring tougher audit and more transparency.

I have made myself available to any constituent who wishes to speak with me about the issue of expenses. They can email me, write, phone my office or come to see me personally. I would be more than willing to lay on extra surgeries to enable people to speak with me in that way.

I think this is by far the best way for people to speak with me on an issue like this - face to face, in small groups or individually.
